How it got its name.

There's more than one telling. The older one is cattle — a century and a half back this was dairy land, and farmers rang bells to bring the cows in. The one you hear most is coins — Portuguese and Azorean workers home from the mills and canneries with a week's pay jingling in their pockets, too wary of the banks to leave it there.
